In August 2019, Janet Lin Photography and I set out to Olympia for a photoshoot at the Washington State Capitol Building.
We were going for a modern-classic look. The florals, candle holders, and chairs were classic. In addition, the dishes, stemware, dress, and linens provided the modern touches. We wanted an elegant and fine-art feel that accented the gorgeous stone work of the building.
This shoot was also the first time meeting Makena Horton, whom had asked to job shadow me and learn more about what goes on behind the scenes. She met us in Olympia and assisted us during the shoot. One year later, she is now working as my Communications Intern and credits her interest in the wedding industry to the magic captured in this shoot.
Our model, Hannah, had the perfect look for the shoot. Her soft makeup and loose curls complimented the dress perfectly.
When we originally arrived for the shoot, we were deciding between three different linen colors for the table–a soft green, a moody gray, or a colorful plum. Ultimately, we decided to go with the gray, which brought out the darker details in the stone of the Capitol Building.
